Neal Cryder started his path in the beauty industry way back in 1998. He decided to take his excitement from street punk inspired hair to a fulfilling career, by enrolling in Cosmetology school. This began a 19 year journey from Stylist to educator for John Paul Mitchell and now a Salon Owner. Maintaining relationships with long time clients, while accommodating new clients, brings him much joy. The very best part of his day is when he is challenged, or presented with an opportunity to enhance a look with an updated haircut or color.

Our story
After 17 years in the industry, hairstylist and former downtown salon owner Neal Cryder, had a vision. He wanted to create a more relaxing boutique atmosphere and a truly tailored experience for his clientele. Thus, Idlewood Salon and Coiffeur was born in 2015. The location is tucked away in the quaint Idlewood neighborhood, yet centered between midtown and downtown Greensboro.
